Learning to build a successful Network Marketing business is a lot like learning to ride a bicycle… First, you find the desire. Second, you find the bicycle. Third, you overestimate how easy it looks. Fourth, you fall down.
Now there’s nothing wrong with those four steps. I’ve fallen down, and if you’re like most people, you’ve probably fallen down too. So then how did we learn to ride a bicycle? Well, I think we figured out—one way or another—the all-important Fifth step; get back up and try again.
So what about you? Have you found the desire you need to build the Network Marketing team you want? Have you found the right company for you? And if you’ve accomplished those first two steps, where are you in the learning cycle? The third step: Thought it would be easier? The fourth step: Ouch? The fifth step: Try, try again?
If you’ve been following my blog from the beginning you know I’m back in the game as an owner and as a distributor. Now it’s only been one full month (February) and yet here’s what I’ve been reminded of so far…
Desire still matters!
I have desire. In fact, I have a burning desire. Therefore, in my first full month, I sponsored 11 people. Of those 11, at this point, three also have a burning desire. Those 11 have collectively sponsored 60 others, for a total of 71. Not bad for a first month. But why doesn’t everyone have the same desire? Why do so many still sign up—for reasons known only to them—and before ever even attempting to try, simply quit?
I’ve stopped asking, “Why?” And I’ve started asking, “Where can I find a few more with a burning desire to succeed?” I would suggest you consider doing the same.
The plan is simple really; treat everyone on the team with respect—work with the willing—and continue looking for those with a burning desire to succeed. How? Prospecting; you know, make two new contacts per day, at least four days per week. If you know how to prospect, it’s easy to do. If you don’t know how to prospect—learn. Because believe me, those with a burning desire are still out there…
And if you happen to see me prospecting or perhaps presenting the business at the Mill Creek Starbucks, and I look a little wobbly, don’t worry too much. I may wobble. I may even fall down a time or two. But rest assured if I do, I’ll remember the all-important Fifth step; get back up and try again. And if I can get back on my bicycle, so can you!
All the best,
